In this study, we aimed to provide novel perspectives on progress in under-5 mortality reductions by mapping and analyzing sub-national levels and trends in under-5 mortality across Sub-Saharan Africa. We used information from demographic surveys to map variation in under-5 mortality at a fine spatial scale across three decades.
